Text Box: MA Glass 29 September - 28 October 2012
Colonnade Gallery, Waterfront Museum, Swansea

Panel E was the most central of the main group of panels.  The range of colours and treatments, and the complexity of design and execution were increased to emphasise this prominent place in

the composition.

The design was based on the classical forms of Swansea Museum and the cupola that was part

of the old Post Office and now forms part of Salubrious Place.  These strong architectural

forms and geometric shapes allowed a rich repeat patterning.  The careful choice of surface treatments gave each part of the design its own character and prevented the design from becoming an unreadable melange of elements.

The complex nature of the design of panel E was complimented by an ornate sand blasted frame, produced using Photoshop and vinyl plotting and cutting.
